INVEST IN THE REGION OF THE FUTURE
We are investing in the future by positioning the region for public-private infrastructure and community investment to accelerate economic growth and equity in our region.
ADVOCATED FOR ROBUST
INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT
We organized a unified regional approach, One Region. One Voice., to secure passage of the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and position southwestern Pennsylvania to compete for billions in federal investment in significant projects identified throughout the 10 counties.
With this funding, we can:
Leverage our abundant water resources
Improve and expand public transportation and strengthen our roads and bridges
Create the transportation systems of the future
Build out and connect innovation-intensive industry hubs
Build out broadband and 5G to improve access for every resident of the region
SELECTED AS A FINALIST FOR THE EDA’S BUILD BACK BETTER REGIONAL CHALLENGE
Working with the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, we formed the Southwestern Pennsylvania New Economy Collaborative to advance a once-in-a-generation opportunity for our region presented by the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s Build Back Better Regional Challenge.
OUR PROPOSAL’S FOCUS
Job creation and transformational economic opportunity for all across every part of our southwestern Pennsylvania footprint through growth of our robotics and artificial intelligence industry cluster.

PARTNERSHIP
CREATED TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT THROUGH THE STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES PARTNERSHIP
We supported our communities in the Strengthening Communities Partnership by securing the funding they requested from the Commonwealth through the Neighborhood Partnership Program. Created in 2012, the partnership directs private investment into communities not sharing in the region’s success by leveraging the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) – a tax credit to encourage businesses to invest in projects which improve distressed areas. The program allows businesses to drive positive change while giving community organizations the resources they need.
